The Italian yard just presented its newest fleet member at an exclusive event in Venice held by its parent company. (Ferretti went all for the occasion, organizing a concert by Elton John and a dinner by Massimo Bottura.) The wallywhy100, which was first announced at the Fort Lauderdale Boat Show in October, pairs the elegance of a coupe with the space of a superyacht.
Wally chose Venice to present the extraordinary new wallywhy100 because of Venice's unique and iconic apotheosis of architecture, romance and water.
“You couldn’t ask for a more fitting location to reveal the exceptional wallywhy100 than Venice – a place where the canals run like veins carrying the lifeblood of the city, just like the saltwater that runs in the veins of everyone at Wally,” enthuses Stefano de Vivo, Wally’s Managing Director
At its core is a single flush deck running from bow to stern. Chameleon-like, it adapts stylishly to different occasions thanks to a hybrid inside-outside concept. There’s dining for six, two chaises-longs, a bar and a galley, where the interplay between opening sides and aft doors can completely alter the ambiance. The wheelhouse can be easily closed off and the cockpit turned into a cosy movie lounge.
Wallywhy100 ignores the trend of similarly sized boats splitting the layout into different levels – with the aim of creating the illusion of more space
A close relationship with the water is as much part of Wally’s DNA as excellent performance, so naturally the boat has a huge beach area with fold-down wings. The hydraulic passerelle doubles as swim steps, while the whole rear platform lowers to launch or retrieve tenders and toys. And you can revel in the seascape over an aperitivo from the comfort of the forward cockpit.
The enormous living quarters center around a hybrid saloon and dining area that flows onto the trademark aft sea terrace.
Back inside, the lower deck is home to a full-beam owner’s suite with an en suite covered in privacy glass that turns from transparent to opaque when in use. There is also a VIP stateroom port side and a twin starboard that both come with en suites. The yacht can accommodate six people plus crew.
For propulsion, Wally has opted for a twin D13 Volvo IPS configuration with cruising speeds of 24 knots and top speeds of more than 27 knots in the upgraded IPS1350 specs.
Τhe new model will be showcased at the 2024 Venice Boat Show and the 2024 Cannes Yachting Festival.
