The second hull of the 74Steel series, Virtuosity, is not simply a superyacht. It is a radical rethinking of how life at sea can be experienced. Conceived over more than four years through a close dialogue between the owner, the shipyard and Studio Paolo Ferrari, the project moves beyond traditional yacht design. Here, space is not predefined. It is generated from within.
Built on Sanlorenzo’s advanced diesel electric platform, Virtuosity uses engineering as a foundation for freedom. Architecture, nature and human experience are treated as one continuous language.

A Yacht Grown Around a Tree
At the heart of Virtuosity lies one of the most extraordinary ideas ever realised on a superyacht. A living Ficus Nitida rises through two decks, shaping the entire spatial identity of the yacht.
This is not a decorative gesture. It is the starting point of the design.

The tree was selected before construction began and the yacht was developed around it. A vertical opening of approximately 16 square metres connects the decks, allowing the tree to grow while guiding circulation, light and perspective. Every movement onboard relates back to this living core.

Natural light is directed through carefully positioned skylights, creating a controlled micro ecosystem that supports the tree’s growth. The result is an environment where botanical science and naval architecture exist in balance.
Nature is not added to the yacht. It defines it.
The Sea as Interior Experience

If the tree defines the vertical dimension, water defines the horizontal experience.
On the Lower Deck, the Ocean Resort extends across 230 square metres, creating a direct and fluid relationship with the sea. Fold down platforms and a walkaround layout dissolve the boundary between inside and outside, while a 28 square metre glass bottom pool anchors the space.

This area transforms throughout the day. In daylight, it is calm and open, dedicated to relaxation and water toys. At night, it shifts into a social environment, with a DJ setup turning it into a vibrant gathering space.

Forward, the experience becomes even more immersive. A submerged aquarium integrated into the hull introduces a completely different perception of the sea. Positioned within the wellness area, a glazed section below the waterline allows guests to sit surrounded by the underwater world.

This space is complemented by a full wellness area including hammam, sauna, massage room and cryotherapy, reinforcing a deeper connection between body, water and environment.
A Continuous Spatial Narrative
The experience onboard Virtuosity unfolds as a continuous flow rather than a sequence of separate decks.
On the Main Deck, the tree creates a strong vertical presence. The main saloon is organised around it, with open views extending in every direction. A sculptural helical staircase connects multiple levels, strengthening the sense of continuity.

Guest areas include two cabins, a VIP suite and an 80 square metre owner’s cabin, where the layout enhances the relationship with the horizon through carefully oriented spaces.

The Bridge Deck introduces a winter garden veranda of 42 square metres. It is an interior space that feels open and connected to the outside, designed for social living with natural light as a central element.

On the Owner’s Deck, the atmosphere becomes more private and contemplative. A cinema lounge leads to a 140 square metre master area, where a reflecting pool replaces the idea of a traditional swimming pool. Water is used here as a surface of light and reflection, creating a sense of calm.

The Sun Deck redefines the yacht’s upper profile, integrating a fully enclosed gym with panoramic glazing. It becomes a central space for both activity and relaxation.
Design as a Shared Vision
The exterior design by Zuccon International Project introduces a more dynamic bow and a stronger overall presence, while maintaining the elegance associated with Sanlorenzo.

Inside, Studio Paolo Ferrari has created a refined environment defined by light tones, natural materials and continuity of surfaces. Every element has been developed alongside the architecture of the yacht itself.
This is not styling. It is a complete spatial concept.
A Different Kind of Luxury
Virtuosity ultimately challenges conventional ideas of superyacht design. Innovation is expressed through clarity and intention rather than excess.

By allowing space to emerge from within, by integrating a living ecosystem at its core, and by redefining the relationship between sea and structure, Sanlorenzo presents a yacht that feels fundamentally different.
A yacht shaped by nature, not just design.
