Rossinavi has launched its "most innovative project" to date, a 42.8m hybrid electric catamaran named Seawolf X. Construction was first revealed to have begun at the Monaco Yacht Show 2022, with the very concept to be unveiled at during Miami Design Week 2021.
The hybrid-electric catamaran's exterior architecture is by Fulvio De Simoni Yacht Design, while New York-based Meyer Davis Studio is responsible for the interior design. This yacht from the Rossinavi fleet carries the BluE label, the yard's new philosophy for sustainable development. Seawolf X is a unique boat that combines attractive design with environmentally friendly solutions
A key feature of the model is its three "performance scenarios". On day trips, the Seawolf X can sail in full electric mode 100 percent of the time. on multi-day trips, it can sail for 90 percent. and on transatlantic voyages, it can still sail in electric mode for 80 percent of the time. When the catamaran is moored, a “hibernation mode” is activated for reduced consumption – with the energy generated being able to be returned to the dock or a private property. It can be recharged in five hours and provides enough energy to charge an entire villa.
"After years of study and construction, it is now a source of satisfaction and pride for us to witness the launch of project Sea Cat, now Seawolf X, the first hybrid-electric multihull vessel. This yacht showcases remarkable technological innovations in both power management and propulsion technologies, marking the beginning of a new chapter in next-generation vessels." states Federico Rossi, Chief Operating Officer of Rossinavi.
Rossinavi has also developed an integrated artificial intelligence system, called Rossinavi AI, to improve comfort and maximize the yacht's sustainable capabilities. Artificial intelligence constantly analyzes the operation of the vessel. It is a brain that can learn from observation and anticipate the needs of guests on board. Rossinavi AI constantly talks to crew members in permissive ways, advising them to prefer lower-impact behaviors and training them for mindful sailing. The result is flawless and seamless navigation tailored to the needs of visitors. The AI software is also able to monitor the batteries to keep them in a range of 20 to 80 percent, the ideal range to ensure longer battery life, as well as supervise and interact with the crew.
Seawolf X also carries the BlUE label, the shipyard' "sustainable" design philosophy established in 2022. Inspired by phytoplankton, the BlUE fleet absorbs sunlight during the day and utilises photovoltaic technology to convert it into energy. This energy is stored in advanced batteries and released at night, creating a bioluminescent effect "akin to glowing plankton".
