Italian design studio MASK Architects has unveiled its latest creation, the 30.5-meter sailing yacht concept Project Tavolara-100, developed for a leading manufacturer of luxury and performance sailing yachts based in Udine, Italy. This concept yacht merges cutting-edge technology, aerodynamic efficiency, and refined elegance, setting a new benchmark in the high-performance sailing category.

At the core of Project Tavolara-100 lies an advanced hull and superstructure made of carbon fiber, built using a composite sandwich construction with a foam or balsa wood core. This choice ensures exceptional structural rigidity while minimizing weight—crucial for achieving both high speeds and comfort at sea. Manufacturing techniques such as Vacuum Assisted Resin Transfer Molding (VARTM) and autoclave curing guarantee excellent fiber impregnation and monocoque hull integrity.

The rigging features a high-modulus carbon fiber mast paired with North Sails' pioneering 3Di sail technology, crafted from Dyneema, carbon, and Technora fibers for optimal shape retention, strength, and performance. Semi-automated electric or hydraulic winches simplify sail handling, meeting the needs of both professional sailors and private owners seeking effortless usability.

The interior design strikes a balance between luxury and weight efficiency. Lightweight composite panels, honeycomb-structured materials, and carefully selected lightweight precious woods are complemented by carbon fiber details, delivering high aesthetics without unnecessary weight. The deck is clad in natural teak laid over a composite sandwich structure, combining timeless maritime elegance with modern technology.

Project Tavolara-100 is powered by a hybrid propulsion system designed to regenerate and store energy while under sail, enabling silent, low-impact cruising under power and during harbor stays. This sustainable approach aligns with MASK Architects' commitment to environmental consciousness without compromising performance.

Onboard technology is enhanced by an integrated smart home system offering centralized control of lighting, climate, and multimedia—boosting autonomy and user experience.

MASK Architects describe Project Tavolara-100 not merely as a yacht, but as a floating masterpiece that pushes the boundaries of naval architecture and luxury sailing—harmoniously blending innovation, elegance, and engineering excellence.
