Delivered this year as the first in the Sanlorenzo shipyard's X-Space series, the 44m La la Land exopler. Construction began in 2021 with details of the superyacht being kept under wraps until now. La La Land is a motor yacht with an overall length of 44.42 meters, a beam of 8.43 meters, a draft of 2.45 meters and a displacement of 499 GT. The superyacht spans five decks and features an exterior design by Zuccon International Project, with interiors by Piero Lissoni. La La Land has a steel hull and aluminum superstructure. She is powered by 2 Caterpillar Inc engines, giving a top speed of 15 knots.
Speaking about the design, Bernardo Zuccon said: "The X-Space project was born with the desire, not to create a wonderful floating structure, but to create a wonderful vessel for life."
The yacht has been specially designed for privacy, with the upper deck exclusively dedicated to the owner. It includes a private apartment, office, living room and a large cabin that leads directly to a private veranda at the bow. The bow has a 30 square meter sunbed area and a swimming pool.
The wheelhouse along with the captain's cabin are located on the upper deck, while moving the owner's cabin to the intermediate upper deck freed up the main deck.
"I think it has never been so important as it has in this project to seek to identify with the owner, who will be the great commander of this boat, hence the desire to create an entire deck dedicated to their needs," added Zuccon.
A key to the design is the amount of glass that appears throughout the design, Lissoni describes La la Land as, "a vessel almost entirely made of glass." Large glazing and large windows are everywhere, while portholes in the cabins have been replaced with "glass walls". This helps to "eliminate the barriers" between the yacht's exterior and interior, the yard said.
Lissoni added of the harmony of interior and exterior "The interior has forced its hand on the exterior and the exterior has been so elastic and so well designed that the interior has almost adapted itself in a totally natural way."
