Turkish shipyard Numarine has selected the HP SCA DOUBLE 660 desalination system for four of its 30XP explorer yachts (30.90 m), one of which is already at sea, with the remaining three currently under construction. Numarine becomes the first shipyard to adopt the HP SCA DOUBLE system as standard equipment.

This decision stems from a long-standing collaboration with HP Watermakers, the Italian manufacturer known for its innovative, fully automated watermakers. First unveiled at the Cannes Yachting Festival, the SCA DOUBLE series was developed to deliver performance and compactness in one package.

The HP SCA DOUBLE 660 produces 660 litres per hour (2 x 330 l/h), featuring two independent desalination units in a single frame. It operates for 6,000 hours with no maintenance, and thanks to the RP Tronic system, it adjusts automatically to salinity and temperature variations without requiring manual pressure regulation. An automatic, full rinse cycle eliminates the need for seasonal chemical cleaning of the membranes.

A major innovation lies in relocating the low-pressure pumps from the main frame to near the seawater inlets, increasing efficiency while reducing the unit size by about one third (dimensions: 737 x 452 x 560 mm; weight: 108 kg).

The system also integrates the Part-NET interface, enabling control directly from the bridge plotter (Raymarine compatible), while all 30XP yachts are also equipped with Sea0Spot, HP’s solution for treating dock water and converting it into freshwater onboard.

The Numarine 30XP is an explorer yacht with a GRP hull, capable of long off-grid operations. It measures 7.50 m in beam, has a full load displacement of 150 tons, and reaches a top speed of 13 knots. The layout features a main-deck master suite and four guest cabins on the lower deck.

The partnership between HP Watermakers and Numarine is a testament to technological synergy and shared values in innovation. It clearly demonstrates how top-tier engineering can meet real-world yachting needs with precision and efficiency.
