Cantiere del Pardo presented the Grand Soleil 52 Performance during the Cannes Yachting Festival. Inspired by the lines of the Grand Soleil 52 originally designed by German Frers in 1987, this new addition marks the return of a legendary model.
The new Grand Soleil 52 Performance, starting from the Cantiere del Pardo concept, was designed by the pduo Matteo Polli and Nauta Design and enjoys the elegance of its ancestor starting with the navy blue lines and the same harmony of shapes that, then as now, translates into stability and performance.
Intended for demanding owners who do not want to compromise on comfort and performance, the Grand Soleil 52 Performance is part of the successful Grand Soleil Performance series and available in two versions, "Performance" and "Race", it meets the needs of the most sporty customers and the needs of people who prefer fast cruising to regatta courses.
Differences between the two versions Performance and Race
The deck plan and sail plan, as well as the hull, are designed differently in the two versions:
The "Performance" version features an "easy sailing" deck design with 4 aft winches, fixed point jib, a standard self-tacking jib and a standard carbon carbon bowsprit. The cockpit does not involved in any maneuvres so that it can be used safely by guests.
The "Race" version, however, features 6 winches, longitudinal rails for the jib, a larger sail plan and a carbon bowsprit that is 90 cm longer than the standard version.
As for the hull, the 'Performance' version has a standard ductile iron blade keel and T-shaped lead/antimony lamp (2.90m draft), while the 'Race' version has a steel blade keel, hydrodynamic fiberglass fittings and optimized lead antimony lamp with 2.7m draft. Drought can be reduced to 2.30 meters.
Both versions have a German style mainsail. The mainsail is positioned behind the main deck to optimize the center of effort.
Interior
Built entirely of composite wood, the Grand Soleil 52 Performance has been thought out down to the last detail to make the most of her space and offer large living spaces for a yacht of this size, without compromising on weight. The large dinning room features the chart area in the bow, large storage compartments and an ergonomic and fully equipped C-shaped kitchen (with 3 fridge-freezers offering 172 liters of storage space), to ensure a pleasant stay on board even for long periods.
There are three cabins: the owner's cabin is in the bow, with its own bathroom, while the VIP cabin in the stern (with a double bed or two single beds) can have direct access to the bathroom (with a shower cabin), as does the guest cabin in left, which has a double bed.
Owners can choose between different color palettes, such as oak, gray oak or teak. In all cases, the color elegance is ensured by the contrasting floorboards.
