Italy-based Azimut Yachts unveiled the new Grande 44M during the Palm Beach International Boat Show 2024, which joins the Azimut fleet as the flagship of the popular Grande range.
The Grande 44M surprises by offering something that doesn't exist today: a CO2-reduced superyacht that brings bold, flowing lines to a four-deck design instead of the traditional three, embracing and sculpting significant volumes.
Azimut Grande 44M features an exterior design by Alberto Mancini Yacht Design, while her interior was designed by m2atelier.
A key feature of the new yacht is the 50 square meter upper deck, which can be converted from an upper deck to an owner's deck, with unobstructed sea views both fore and aft.
The Grande 44M Upper Deck front section can be equipped as a media room for guests or reserved for the owner or alternatively as a dining room with a terrace that can seat 12 people. In both cases, nearly two meter long windows provide open views to the outside, where a bow lounge with a small fireplace provides a comfortable space from which to watch the sunset over the water. It is a lifestyle desired by all who love the sea.
The transition between the exterior and interior of the Azimut Grande 44M yacht is easy for guests, with sliding glass doors allowing guests to easily move between these spaces.
Water is the key element of m²atelier's design, capturing its essence and giving fluidity, dynamism to the entire space.
Azimut also explained that its infinity pool on its center deck creates a spectacular “dining space in the sea”.
The Grande 44M is not only a design breakthrough, but also a highly advanced work of naval architecture and a new milestone in Azimut's green journey. The yacht is also the flagship of the Yard's family of low-emission vessels, models that offer between 20 and 30% reduction in emissions compared to more traditional naval architectures of the same size. The innovative marine platform of the Grande 44M is based on a Dual Mode hull, the introduction of aluminum Hull Vane® technology and the Mild Hybrid Plus Zero Emission Hotel Mode system.
The Dual Mode hull, developed in partnership by P.L. Ausonio Naval Architecture and the Azimut R&D department, represents the union of two types of conventional hull: the bow section is typical for fast displacement boats, while the part from midships to the stern has a chine commonly found on planing hulls. This results in a hull that allows a considerable reduction in fuel consumption and emissions at every speed range.
The Azimut Grande 44M yacht is expected to be powered by two MAN engines, which will give her an estimated top speed of 17 knots.
