The new Ax8 range of crossover yachts expands the Astondoa yard's Flybridged family with the launch of the first model, Sonrisa. The first 24.5m boat in the Ax8 range, recently completed her final round of sea trials in Santa Pola, Spain after being handed over to her owner in September.
Ax8, a state-of-the-art family cruiser with all the features to make social life at sea unsurpassed, entering the category of largest Flybridge yachts and reflecting the standards of spaciousness, comfort and elegance. Sonrisa is powered by two Volvo Penta IPS 1350 engines for an expected top speed of 19 knots.
Modern Design
Sonrisa's design reflects the evolution of Astondoa's style, maintaining the basic lines and contemporary style of the brand, adopting the character of avant garde sailing. Key features in the yacht's design are a focus on comfort and functionality, with minimalistic, bright, modern spaces.
The shipyard's collaboration with renowned designer, Cristiano Gatto, achieves a design that exudes elegance and character, but with a fresh and modern perspective.
The combination of noble materials and natural tones enhance the brightness of the boat, creating the perfect atmosphere to enjoy moments with friends or family and relaxation on board.
I am proud to have had the opportunity to give this boat a recognisable identity and style language typical of Astandoa," explained Gatto.
"With the shipyard, we put in a great team effort to create a modern and contemporary interior design typical of full custom boats, with tailor-made details and finishes of the highest quality. I believe this is an absolute novelty in the market for this segment of vessels."
Accommodations are in three en-suite guest cabins, including a master suite on the lower deck. On the Sonrisa Ax8, there are additional spaces for two crew members. An alternative layout proposal includes four cabins with a master cabin on the main deck.
Sonrisa offers two comfortable sundecks for sunbathing or lounging, found on the main deck and flybridge. The fully glass-paneled cockpit has a dining and lounging area overlooking the beach club.
