Art explorer-the floating catamaran art museum is located in Malta and can be visited for free from 21-03 to 31-03-2024

It is docked in Valletta, Malta is the new 46.6m sailing catamaran Artexplorer, the largest aluminum catamaran. Delivered to her owner this March by Perini Navi, Artexplorer features exterior and interior design by Nacira Design - Axel de Beaufort and is designed as a floating gallery.

The Art Explorer will be used as a floating art gallery that will undertake a two-year journey to present "art experiences" to the world. Her owner, French businessman Frédéric Jousset, has shared his plans for the yacht, including Malta, Venice (for the Biennale), Marseille and Morocco.


It can accept 2,000 people on board each day and features an immersive exhibition designed with the exceptional collaboration of the Louvre Museum, an audio experience developed with Ircam and artist residencies on board.

From 21-03-2024 to 31-03-2024 it will be open to the public, who can get a free ticket through the festival's official site.

Visitors, during their visit to Art explorer, they will have the opportunity. among others, to see the exhibition "PRÉSENTES".

Created in exceptional collaboration with the Louvre Museum, this exhibition explores the role and representation of female figures in the Mediterranean world through an educational and sensory experience based on digital audio-visual technologies.

The exhibition offers an experience in two parts:

  • An educational documentary on the aft deck

  • An immersive exhibition in the heart of the catamaran

After her two-year voyage, the yacht will be available for private charter. One of the yacht's special features is the 65 square meter solar panel on deck that can generate up to 200 kilowatts of energy per day, reducing its environmental impact.
