A bold 72m superyacht concept with ground-breaking design and innovative features was unveiled by Italian shipyard Wider Yachts and Dutch design studio Phathom Studio at the recent Monaco Yacht Show 2024. “We are incredibly proud to present Aetherius. This collaboration with Phathom Studio has allowed us to combine our technical expertise with a visionary design, creating a yacht that redefines the concept of elegance and comfort. Aetherius is a true technological masterpiece on the sea thanks to our cutting-edge hybrid propulsion system. We are confident that this yacht will mark a new era in the design and construction of superyachts, further raising the standards of the industry,” enthuses Marcello Maggi, President of W-Fin Sarl, the holding company that holds Wider.

Aetherius is a testament to bold design and timeless elegance, drawing inspiration from both architectural finesse and automotive design.

The images reveal a masculine silhouette with strong lines and windows that run the length of the yacht.

A standout feature is the revolutionary "Club Beach"design that creates a large space for relaxation and fun. Featuring a retractable beach platform decorated with simulated sand, opening side balconies and an area including a gym, hammam, sauna and indoor/outdoor pool. Clever lighting panels mimic the sky outside, blurring the lines between indoors and outdoors, ensuring an immersive seaside atmosphere.

Aetherius features large windows that flood the interior with natural light and offer panoramic sea views. The decoration is distinguished by high-quality materials such as leaf leather, eco-conscious leather and recycled natural fibers, grace the interior spaces, adding both luxury and eco-consciousness to the design. Raquel H. Grijota, Yacht Designer & Managing Partner of Phathom Studio says “Connection is key. Each level of the yacht connects to the adjacent ones in a seamless flow without aesthetic, spatial or visual boundaries. People and nature can touch and experience each other without limits, both outside and inside the boat, thanks also to the use of completely natural materials.”

The upper deck lounge takes entertainment to the next level with cinema mode, where projector graphics seamlessly bleed onto the ceiling, creating an immersive viewing experience.

The owner’s cabin is a sanctuary of luxury, complete with direct access to a private foredeck spa-pool boasting a drop-down glass infinity feature for unparalleled ocean vistas. From the upper deck bar and billiard area, which effortlessly transforms into a disco, to the six guest suites and spacious crew quarters accommodating a total of 21 crew members, every aspect of Aetherius is meticulously crafted to exceed expectations and redefine the yachting experience.

The technology platform on which Aetherius was developed includes Wider's latest generation hybrid propulsion system, which includes two variable speed generators combined with a battery bank that gives the opportunity to always generate energy at the lowest point of consumption. As usual for Wider, the use of the latest innovations and technologies to be in harmony with the sea and the environment played an important role in this project as well.
