SIMENA: ARES Yachts’ 62m Flagship Heads to the Monaco Yacht Show 2026

SIMENA, ARES Yachts’ 62-metre flagship ketch, will be on display at the Monaco Yacht Show 2026, taking place from 23 to 26 September. One of the largest sailing superyachts at this year’s show, SIMENA will be presented at Port Hercule, offering visitors the opportunity to experience the yacht at close range.

Her appearance in Monaco comes after an active first Mediterranean season. ARES Yachts has released the first official sailing photography of SIMENA, captured off Saint-Tropez as the yacht sailed at 8.5 to 9.5 knots in 13 to 16 knots of wind.

SIMENA has already covered approximately 3,250 nautical miles during her first season, cruising to destinations including Monaco, Genoa, Palma de Mallorca, Saint-Tropez and Imperia. Her season has included a non-stop 1,200-nautical-mile passage from Fethiye to Monaco, an offshore crossing of approximately 400 nautical miles between the Strait of Messina and Cap Corse, and a further 380-nautical-mile open-water leg between Kythira and the Messina Strait.

At 62 metres, SIMENA ranks among the world’s largest sailing superyachts and serves as the flagship of ARES Yachts. Her exterior design and naval architecture are by Istanbul-based Taka Yacht Design, while the interiors were created by Design Unlimited.

Her ketch rig features a 59-metre mainmast and a 48-metre mizzen mast, carrying a 470-square-metre mainsail, a 249-square-metre mizzen, a 596-square-metre genoa and a 356-square-metre staysail, all supplied by Doyle Sails. During sea trials, SIMENA reached a maximum speed of 16 knots in 20 knots of wind at a 100-degree wind angle.

Her hybrid propulsion system enables quiet electric cruising at approximately 8 knots, with a calculated range of around 6,000 nautical miles. Her MAN diesel engine provides a maximum speed of 14 knots and an operational range of 4,000 nautical miles at 11 knots.

SIMENA combines the classic character of a clipper bow, teak decks and varnished sipo mahogany with contemporary proportions and refined interior materials. The yacht accommodates up to 12 guests in six cabins, including a full-beam Owner’s Suite positioned forward.

Her exterior spaces include a cockpit with dining for up to 14 guests, a six-square-metre fold-out swim platform and a discreet sunken flybridge.

Environmental performance is also central to the yacht’s profile. SIMENA holds a 4-star “Superior” SEA Index rating, developed by the Yacht Club de Monaco and UBS Group and verified by Lloyd’s Register. The yacht has also received two nominations at the La Belle Classe Superyachts Explorer Awards.

Following her first season cruising the Mediterranean, SIMENA’s arrival at the Monaco Yacht Show 2026 will offer an opportunity to see one of the most distinctive new sailing superyachts currently on the market, combining traditional sailing character with modern technology and long-range capability.
