Italian designer Marco Ferrari introduces Project Mistral, a striking new concept that reimagines the luxury tender as a sculptural object created for the world’s most prestigious superyachts. Available in 10-metre and 15-metre configurations, the concept combines aerodynamic efficiency, advanced technology and refined aesthetics into a seamless expression of contemporary luxury.

Inspired by Nature

At the heart of Project Mistral lies a design language inspired by the organic geometry of a falling water droplet and the hydrodynamic efficiency found in marine life. This philosophy creates a fluid silhouette that is not only visually captivating but also naturally optimised for reduced drag and exceptional stability at speed.

The hull and canopy merge into a single continuous form, allowing the tender to move through air and water with remarkable elegance. Finished in a bespoke reflective chrome coating, the exterior mirrors the surrounding seascape, creating the illusion of a vessel that almost disappears into its environment.

A Glass Dome with Panoramic Views

One of the most distinctive features of the concept is its seamless glass canopy. Following the curvature of the overall profile, the dome offers uninterrupted 360-degree views while incorporating heat-reflective laminated glass and electrochromic technology, allowing privacy at the touch of a button.

High-density acoustic insulation further enhances comfort on board, enabling residential-level quietness even while cruising at high speeds.

Two Distinct Boarding Experiences

Project Mistral is currently being developed with two possible entry configurations, which will ultimately be refined together with Falcon Tenders' engineering team.

The first solution features an aft-opening entrance that allows guests to board directly from the mothership's swim platform. This arrangement preserves the tender’s exceptionally clean profile while providing a comfortable walk-in experience.

Alternatively, dual side gullwing portals deliver a more theatrical arrival. Inspired by the world of hypercars, the upward-opening sections provide direct dock access and improved natural ventilation when at anchor or moored Mediterranean style.

Executive Limousine or Sport Beach Crossover

Project Mistral is envisioned in two distinct personalities.

The Executive Limousine version offers a fully enclosed and climate-controlled environment capable of accommodating between 12 and 16 guests. Quiet hybrid-electric propulsion and a luxurious opposing sofa layout are designed to provide discreet and sophisticated transfers.

For owners seeking a more dynamic lifestyle, the Sport Beach Crossover introduces an open aft sunpad, a convertible roof and an optional bow ramp for beach landings. Performance exceeding 40 knots delivers an exhilarating experience without compromising comfort.

The 15-Metre Flagship

The flagship 15-metre model accommodates up to 16 guests and features twin Volvo Penta D6-450 engines driving waterjets, delivering speeds of up to 45 knots. Built in advanced carbon fibre with epoxy infusion, the tender incorporates hybrid-electric propulsion, gyro stabilisation, electrochromic smart glass and bespoke residential-style interiors.

An electric cruising mode allows silent operation at 10 knots, providing an environmentally conscious alternative for short-range transfers.

The 10-Metre Companion

The smaller 10-metre version offers accommodation for 12 guests and reaches speeds of 35 to 40 knots. Featuring the same sophisticated design language and premium materials, it combines hybrid-electric capabilities with waterjet propulsion, creating an elegant and highly versatile tender for modern superyachts.

A New Design Statement

More than a means of transportation, Project Mistral represents a bold design statement. Through its biomorphic architecture, advanced technology and understated elegance, Marco Ferrari has created a concept that blurs the boundaries between automotive design, contemporary architecture and the world of superyachts.

As the luxury industry increasingly embraces innovation and sustainability, Project Mistral offers a compelling vision of what the next generation of superyacht tenders could become.
