Oceanco's new 80m Simply Custom series superyacht design to be unveiled is Carinae, designed by Pascoli International. Carinae is arguably the most unusual of all the designs in Oceanco's Simply Custom range.
As the designer mentions, its characteristic is the design of the hull, which at the stern recalls designs of galleys of past times, but its design is also influenced by the designs of the 1930s. Also, the classic layout of the decks has been avoided and the main deck is inside the hull.
The name of the superyacht Carinae derives of the name of a constellation that was once part of a larger constellation, named Argo Navis. In Greek mythology the Argo was a ship built with the help of the gods to retrieve the golden fleece, and the Carinae represents its hull.
The Oceanco Simply Custom technical foundation fits the design well, providing a lot of flexibility as far as in/out arrangement and living spaces.” the designer points out.
Oceanco’s Simply Custom technical foundation incorporates an all-electrical propulsion and energy architecture system, designed to ensure each yacht has the correct foundations to deliver high levels of operational capability. Typically the Simply Custom Collection yachts display an owner’s suite and six guest staterooms.
"Through yacht design, I am driven to provide people with awe and excitement, and to push them to seek adventure. My work combines my greatest passions....Growing up, I spent most of my time at sea under the watchful eye of my father, who was the first Italian to cross the Atlantic Ocean, on a 7m sailboat",Kristian Pascoli stated.
To me, yacht design is about making a client’s vision a reality, tapping into technical and practical know-how as well as emotive insight.
