British yacht builders Concept Yachts and Infiniti Yachts have teamed up to bring a new 18.3m multi-hull model to market. With interior and exterior styling by Design Unlimited, the Infiniti 60 Powercat will utilize the latest retractable foil technology that Infiniti Yachts has been developing with Powercat designer Hugh Welbourn for more than two decades. This will offer the unique advantages of speed and reduced fuel consumption of up to 35%.
It is designed to serve as a superyacht tender, a fishing boat or even a compact liveaboard. Its customization options are plentiful and it offers configurations with two, three or four cabins. The boat is available in two basic forms: the Coupé version and the Grand Tourer Flybridge.
To maximize usability, the Infiniti 60 Powercat is powered by two 600hp 7.6L Mercury Verado V12 outboards. These outboards are unique in that they have steerable lower units while the outboard motor remains stable. This layout, combined with a strong lightweight carbon fiber construction, means the Infiniti 60 Powercat can travel at speeds of up to 40 knots. A twin diesel outboard option will also be available as will electric motors.
The standard Coupé model offers accommodation within the hulls of the catamaran and the vast expanse of the saloon on the bridge deck. The Grand Tourer version has a flybridge that can be open or with its own hardtop.
As a stand-alone speedboat, the Infiniti 60 Powercat features a variety of accommodation arrangements. All have an en-suite master cabin on the starboard hull with an optional crew cabin forward.
As a private day boat or fishing boat, the Grand Tourer flybridge option is ideal for this, providing good visibility into the water from the flybridge and an aft deck suitable for securing fishing rods and seats.
As a superyacht tender, the Coupé offers maximum space and comfort for guests if they wish to be transported ashore or to and from the beach or another yacht.
