The highly anticipated Four Seasons I has officially emerged as one of the most significant yacht projects of recent years, redefining the relationship between luxury hospitality and life at sea. Designed by Tillberg Design of Sweden (TDoS), part of the Viken Group, and built by Italian shipbuilding giant Fincantieri, the 207-metre vessel represents the inaugural yacht for Four Seasons Yachts and establishes a new benchmark for ultra-luxury cruising.

Scheduled to begin Mediterranean voyages in March, Four Seasons I has been conceived not as a traditional cruise vessel, but as a floating private residence where space, privacy and personalised service take centre stage. From the earliest stages of development, TDoS worked closely with Four Seasons and Fincantieri to create the yacht’s Design & Brand Manifesto, shaping everything from the exterior identity and master planning to suite layouts and guest experiences.

Timeless Glamour Meets Contemporary Innovation

The design brief behind Four Seasons I was succinct yet ambitious: “Christina O meets James Bond.” The result is a yacht that combines the glamour and elegance of classic yachting with the sophistication and technological innovation of contemporary naval architecture.

Classical symmetry, refined detailing and a distinctly private-yacht atmosphere are complemented by floor-to-ceiling glazing, expansive outdoor terraces and uninterrupted visual connections to the sea. The vessel’s silhouette evokes the romance of another era while delivering the openness, performance and comfort expected from a modern superyacht.

One particularly distinctive detail is the yacht’s exterior colour palette, inspired by the collection of vintage Porsche automobiles owned by Viken Group co-founder Fredrik Johansson.

Designed Around the Sea

A defining characteristic of Four Seasons I is its extraordinary connection to the ocean. TDoS and Fincantieri engineers developed a revolutionary structural concept that maximises transparency throughout the vessel, allowing nearly 360-degree views from many onboard spaces.

All guest suites face the sea, while extensive floor-to-ceiling windows blur the boundaries between interior and exterior environments. The yacht’s innovative central “Spine Concept” replaces traditional perimeter structural elements, enabling unprecedented glazing and enhancing the sense of openness.

Further strengthening this connection is the vessel’s spectacular two-level transverse marina, offering guests direct access to the water and transforming into a private seaside retreat.

The Iconic Funnel Suite

Perhaps the most remarkable accommodation onboard is the Funnel Suite, an extraordinary 10,000-square-foot residence located within the yacht’s forward-facing funnel structure.

Offering breathtaking 270-degree panoramic ocean views through dramatic curved glazing, the suite has become the visual signature of the vessel. The project demanded an intricate balance between architecture and engineering, requiring close collaboration between TDoS and Fincantieri to integrate structural requirements, guest privacy, circulation and uninterrupted views.

Private lift access from sea level further enhances the exclusivity of this unique residence.

Residential Living at Sea

Four Seasons I accommodates just 95 expansive suites, each designed to feel more like a luxurious waterfront residence than traditional yacht accommodation.

Natural materials, carefully curated artwork and bespoke furnishings create an atmosphere of understated elegance. Anigre wood panelling, solid parquet flooring and sophisticated textiles establish a timeless aesthetic, while Brazilian aqua-green quartzite and advanced porcelain stoneware are used throughout the bathrooms.

Every bed is positioned to face the sea, ensuring uninterrupted ocean views upon waking. Signature suites feature private splash pools, spacious terraces and custom details, including star constellation maps etched into stone coffee tables.

Guests seeking additional space can combine multiple suites through interconnecting doors, while the loft suites feature dramatic double-height interiors that extend seamlessly onto outdoor terraces.

Engineering Highlights

Several technical features distinguish Four Seasons I from other vessels in its category. The yacht’s 20-metre aft pool incorporates a movable floor that can be raised or lowered depending on operational requirements and guest preferences.

Additional innovations include concealed lifeboat systems that preserve the purity of the yacht’s exterior lines, a classic canoe stern, curved panoramic glazing and four-metre telescopic doors that open entire living spaces directly to the horizon.

Service Without Visibility

Reflecting Four Seasons’ globally recognised hospitality philosophy, the yacht has been meticulously designed to support exceptional service standards.

Guest and crew circulation routes remain completely separate, allowing operations to function discreetly behind the scenes. This ensures an atmosphere where service feels effortless and intuitive, delivering the privacy, comfort and personalisation that define the Four Seasons experience.

More than simply a yacht, Four Seasons I represents a new category of luxury travel. Combining private-yacht exclusivity, residential comfort and world-class hospitality, it signals the beginning of an ambitious new chapter for luxury experiences at sea.
