The Italian Sea Group (TISG) has unveiled the Art Explorer, the world’s largest aluminum sailing catamaran, from its Marina di Carrara facilities. This project marks the first construction under the Perini Navi brand since its acquisition by TISG in late 2021.

The Art Explorer debuted at the Monaco Yacht Show 2023 and represents a unique flagship project: 47 meters in length, with an impressive 17.30-meter beam and a 55-meter carbon mast. Both naval architecture and interior design are by Axel De Beaufort. Essentially, it is a floating art museum, the first of its kind, which will be in Greece from October 3 to 12, offering visitors a unique cultural experience.

The catamaran functions as a floating art gallery, embarking on a two-year journey to present "artistic experiences" worldwide. The flybridge hosts virtual exhibitions, workshops, and conferences, while the central interior space houses the main gallery titled Icons. After its two-year voyage, the vessel will also be available for private charter.

Sustainability & Technology
Giovanni Costantino, Founder & CEO of TISG, comments:"This project highlights our ability to lead the large sailing yacht sector and pioneer solutions that significantly reduce the environmental impact of yachts. Art Explorer is the result of our continued investment in researching emission-reducing systems, contributing to cleaner air and healthier seas."

On the deck roof, 65 m² of solar panels provide an immediate 12 kW of energy and over 200 kW daily. In addition, a lithium battery bank ensures zero-emission electricity production for more than six hours at full load. The yacht has a "green" class notation, all exhausts pass through catalytic filters, and all maneuvers in ports or protected areas are fully electric.

Like all new Perini Navi yachts, the Art Explorer can be handled by a single person thanks to its fully automated sail design, sailing at 10 knots even in very light winds.

"The Perini Navi Art Explorer is an innovative project on a technical, mechanical, and human level. It represents an important milestone made possible by the constant pursuit of stylistic and technological development and the professionalism of the entire team behind the project," adds Costantino.

The Art Explorer is more than just a yacht: it is a floating art experience combining technological innovation, environmental awareness, and unique aesthetics, currently bringing the world’s first floating art museum to Athens/Piraeus from October 3 to 12.
