SKY is an 81-meter sloop project presented by Royal Huisman. It features a 93-meter carbon mast by Rondal, considered the tallest mast developed to date for a sloop. The naval architecture and exterior styling were created by Malcolm McKeon Yacht Design, while the interior was developed by Winch Design.

According to the shipyard, the majority of the design and engineering phase has been completed, enabling construction to begin immediately, with delivery planned for spring 2030. The project follows previous collaboration between Royal Huisman and MMYD, which included the 60-meter Sarissa.

SKY is based on a full aluminum build, a long waterline and a lift keel, with weight distribution optimized for sailing performance on a large scale. The yacht has been designed to achieve speeds above true wind and higher performance than motoryachts of similar length.

Handling is supported by twin carbon composite rudders and an integrated Rondal control system designed to simplify sailing operations. Exterior areas include a flybridge with wide visibility, a cockpit with folding bulwarks, an aft beach deck with extendable platform and a full-beam midship lazarette with folding side openings.

The interior by Winch Design focuses on natural textures, neutral palettes and architectural clarity.

Large hull windows introduce natural light throughout the main accommodations.

The full-beam owner’s suite is positioned aft with direct access to the beach deck. Guest capacity is set at 10 to 12 persons, with additional spaces including a midship wellness area and a dedicated watersports facility.

Storage capacity includes a 12-meter tender, a crew/rescue tender, water scooters, seabobs, scuba equipment, SUP boards, kayaks and bicycles. The overall arrangement is designed to eliminate the need for a support vessel.

The propulsion system consists of electric azimuthing pods, four generators and a battery bank that enables silent, emission-free operation in specific modes. The system can regenerate energy while sailing. SKY holds the Lloyd’s “Hybrid Power” notation.

The project has finalized design work, resolved technical challenges and completed most production engineering. The future owner can customize layout and interior styling while maintaining the shortened timeline.

SKY is presented by Royal Huisman as a fully prepared large-scale sailing yacht project designed for global cruising, with emphasis on technical consistency and performance.
