Itama takes the open yacht concept into a new chapter with a model that combines the brand’s unmistakable sporting character with more generous spaces, contemporary comfort and a more complete experience of life at sea.

Measuring 21.23 metres in length overall and 5.30 metres in beam, the Itama 70 is the second model in the renewal of the Itama range. The yacht made its world premiere at the latest Cannes Yachting Festival, following its first presentation during the Itama Power Circle event in Porto Rotondo.

Developed by the Ferretti Group Strategic Product Committee and Engineering Department, the new yacht features exterior styling by Vallicelli Design and interiors by IdeaeItalia. The result remains firmly rooted in Itama’s DNA while translating its distinctive sporting identity into a more contemporary and versatile expression.

The Itama silhouette, reinterpreted

The exterior design of the Itama 70 is built around a careful balance between performance-driven lines and everyday functionality. The gunwale is aligned with the sheer line, moving the junction between hull and deck to the highest point of the hull, at deck level.

This creates a distinctive convex profile running from bow to stern while also allowing the deck spaces to expand, particularly in the forward section.

The side windows running along the hull are another defining feature. First introduced on the Itama 54, they bring a strong horizontal character to the profile. At the stern, the transom follows the angle of the stem, completing a clean and dynamic silhouette that remains unmistakably Itama.

A main deck made for life outdoors

The main deck is conceived around the social side of life at sea, with the cockpit functioning as the yacht’s central outdoor living area.

The spacious aft platform can accommodate a tender of up to 3.25 metres. Access to the cockpit is through a two-section door, with a pantograph opening mechanism on the upper section and a lower section that swings outward to create a practical step.

A large sun pad occupies the aft living area, continuing one of the most recognisable features of the Itama design language. An integrated backrest connects it directly to the dining area, creating a fluid transition between lounging and entertaining.

The U-shaped dining area is fitted with a teak table, while the wet bar opposite incorporates a sink and refrigerator. Depending on the chosen configuration, it can also accommodate an ice maker, grill or hob, as well as an additional drawer refrigerator. One configuration even allows two separate cooking stations to operate simultaneously.

The wet bar can also be transformed into a chaise longue with the addition of a dedicated cushion and adjustable backrest.

An electric bimini top provides shade over the cockpit and can be fitted with side panels and an aft extension for additional protection from the sun.

The helm station is positioned to port and provides excellent visibility, with seating for up to three people. The standard specification includes two 12-inch touchscreen chartplotters, with 16-inch units available as an option, all supported by SIMRAD navigation systems.

Access to the foredeck remains centrally positioned in relation to the windscreen and is reached via dedicated steps. Importantly, this route is separated from the companionway leading to the lower deck, creating a more natural circulation pattern on board.

At the bow, a generous sun pad reinforces the open-yacht philosophy. Integrated directly into the deck, it provides an unobstructed space from which to enjoy the sea and the horizon.

A lower deck designed around comfort

Below deck, the Itama 70 offers a layout focused on comfort, practicality and ease of movement. The arrangement includes a galley, dinette, three cabins and three bathrooms.

One of the most effective design choices is the single floor level throughout the lower deck. The absence of steps creates a continuous flow between the different areas, while the large hull-side windows, incorporating the portholes, bring substantial amounts of natural light into the interior.

The owner’s cabin is positioned aft, a layout more commonly associated with larger open yachts. This arrangement makes efficient use of the available volume while also helping to reduce the perception of noise.

The bed is centrally positioned, with access on the port side to the private master bathroom.

Forward, the dinette and galley form the main indoor living area. The dinette features a generous L-shaped sofa with integrated storage and an extending table. Opposite is a fully equipped galley and a wall-mounted television of up to 55 inches.

Storage has been carefully integrated throughout the lower deck, with cupboards along the hallway and the option of installing a washer-dryer beneath the staircase connecting the two decks.

Two guest cabins complete the accommodation layout. The VIP cabin occupies the bow, while the second guest cabin is positioned to port and features a queen-size bed, with the option of adding a pullman berth.

Its en-suite bathroom can also function as a dayhead, thanks to direct access from the hallway.

An optional single crew cabin with a dedicated bathroom can be accessed from the aft sun pad. Alternatively, the same space can be configured as a storage room.

Contemporary Italian character

The design language established outside continues throughout the interiors, where the traditional Itama aesthetic is interpreted through a more contemporary vocabulary.

Leather and wood are combined with clean, understated surfaces to create an interior that feels warm and elegant while retaining the yacht’s sporty identity.

A choice of colour schemes allows owners to personalise the atmosphere, ranging from warm date-inspired tones to fresher shades of blue.

Up to 39 knots

The Itama 70 is powered by twin MAN V12 engines. The standard configuration features two 1,400 HP engines, delivering a top speed of 37 knots and a cruising speed of 33 knots.

The optional configuration, with two 1,550 HP engines, increases performance to 39 knots maximum speed and 35 knots cruising speed, based on preliminary data.

The yacht is equipped with the XENTA electro-hydraulic steering system, with an optional manoeuvring joystick. XENTA also supplies the trim tabs and thrusters, while stern thrusters are available as an option.

For additional comfort underway, the Itama 70 can also be equipped with a Seakeeper NG14 gyroscopic stabiliser, designed to reduce rolling motion.

The Itama 70 does not move away from the essence of the open yacht. It builds on it. Speed, clean lines and an immediate connection with the sea remain at the heart of the concept, while more generous spaces, a carefully considered layout and extensive customisation options make the experience more complete.

It is an open yacht designed for days when the sea does not need a schedule. Just space, speed and the freedom to choose the next direction.
