Edvin H Design has unveiled Awakening, a groundbreaking 80-meter superyacht that merges cutting-edge technology with eco-conscious luxury. The yacht’s innovative design incorporates retractable solar panels that hide as awnings, along with a wave energy-harvesting aft platform that converts ocean power into electricity. The owner's deck features a semi-enclosed workspace with solar-powered tablets, enhancing sustainability.
The foredeck, known as "Solar City," is a relaxation area that doubles as a solar panel array, powering entertainment systems like a projector and television. On the main deck, a gourmet Teppanyaki kitchen is powered by solar energy, surrounded by eco-friendly materials like glass-laminated copper, natural stone, and stainless steel.
The sundeck offers a fully integrated wellness area with four solar-powered baths, whirlpools, and a central sauna, providing guests with an eco-luxury experience. The lower deck caters to adventure enthusiasts with electric mountain bikes, solar-electric tenders, and water scooters. The tenders are accessible via side hatches, designed to stabilize the yacht during docking, and feature a retractable swim-in platform for easy re-entry after a swim.
Awakening represents a growing trend in eco-conscious superyachts, following in the footsteps of vessels like Rossinavi’s Solsea, which can cruise for up to 80 percent of a transatlantic crossing on full-electric mode. These innovations are shaping the future of luxury yachting, combining sustainable technologies with sophisticated design.
