Dilbar is the largest motor yacht in the world by gross tonnage! It is one of the most complex and challenging yachts ever built, both in terms of dimensions and technology. At 15,917 tonnes, the 156m long superyacht features entertainment and leisure spaces never before seen on a yacht.
As of 2022, Dilbar is the sixth longest yacht in the world.
She was built by Lürssen, a German shipyard, and designed by English yacht designer Andrew Winch on the interior, while Espen Øino International designed the exterior. The designers have stated that it was one of the most demanding yachts they have ever built thanks to the size and all the elements of the construction, including the exclusive luxury materials.
It took almost four years to build the yacht. Over 680 miles of cable and wiring were used in the build to ensure power was supplied to all corners of the vessel. The owner of the yacht had registered it in the Cayman Islands.
The Dilbar yacht was launched in 2016 and is owned by Russian billionaire Alisher Usmanov, president of the International Fencing Federation. The Russian oligarch became a billionaire after the fall of the Soviet Union in the metals and mining industries. Since then he has been involved in communications, publishing and more. He is currently one of the 100 richest people in the world.
The name Dilbar means beloved and was named in honor of the owner's mother who is also her name.
It can comfortably accommodate up to 36 guests in its spacious and luxurious cabins. The yacht also has provision for a crew of 96 so as to ensure the high level of onboard service and attention to detail for all on board in accordance with the owner's wishes.
The 3800 square meters of luxury that make up the interior of the yacht can be made even more thanks to the folding balconies. When it comes to luxury amenities, Dilbar has some unusual ones. In addition to the giant swimming pool which is the largest on a boat, there is even a whole garden. The garden's grass is a variety designed to withstand salt air, and all the plants are native to the regions of Europe that Dilbar travels to, so as to avoid penalties for transporting foreign plants from one country to another.
There are over 1,000 custom-made cushions on board, each designed to match the interior of the rooms for which they were designed. The tones in many places are bronze and light ivory. Many materials are said to have been rare or luxury items, but the many details of what went into the overall interior design have been mostly kept under wraps.
While many superyachts now have one helipad, Dilbar has two of them. One is near the bow, while the second is closer to the rear of the flybridge on the upper deck.
Many superyachts have tenders for guests and Dilbar is no different as we have seen. However, a major difference is that Dilbar also has an AirBus tender. This is a large custom-built helicopter, worth 20 million dollars, with room for 7 passengers. The interior is designed with lounge seating. There is a front lounge that can accommodate 4 passengers and the sofa bed can accommodate three more passengers.
There is a beach deck on board, as well as a floating observation bay for guests. As expected, there is also a gym, spa, sauna and everything else needed for a luxurious life on board.
Dilbar is truly an ultra-luxurious and stunning superyacht and a jewel at sea!
