In an era defined by innovation and exploration, the Azzurra 48 emerges as a bold and refined answer to the demands of the modern superyacht owner. Unveiled by award-winning Italian designer Mauro Giamboi in collaboration with Van Oossanen Naval Architects, the Azzurra 48 is the flagship of the Azzurra series — a semi-custom range that also includes the 36- and 40-meter models.

Measuring 48 meters (157 feet) in length and just under 500GT in volume, the Azzurra 48 is designed for both indulgent cruising and long-range exploration. Her reinforced hull and structure make her Ice Class-ready, while propulsion options include traditional diesel and advanced diesel-electric hybrid systems. Owners can choose between twin Caterpillar C32 ACERT or MTU 12V 2000 M96L engines, with a top speed of 16 knots and a transoceanic range of 4,250 nautical miles at 11 knots.

Built upon Van Oossanen’s Fast Displacement Hull Form (FDHF), the yacht boasts up to 30% greater efficiency at cruising speeds. Azzurra 48 merges state-of-the-art naval architecture with Italian elegance, presenting a sleek profile, straight bow, and expansive open decks with fluid, asymmetric lines.

The yacht’s elongated aft deck features an infinity glass-backed pool, fold-out platforms, and a seamless transition into the main saloon, where curved sofas and a formal dining space set the tone for a relaxed yet luxurious onboard experience. Expansive glazing enhances the natural light and strengthens the connection with the sea.

Accommodation is offered for up to 18 guests across eight convertible cabins — which transform effortlessly between twin and double setups — plus two Pullman berths. The owner's suite occupies the upper deck and includes a private studio and a forward-facing balcony with its own plunge pool.

Key amenities include:

  • Fold-out terraces and opening decks for panoramic sea views

  • A dedicated wellness area with a steam room and massage suite

  • A dumbwaiter system, discreet crew passages, and an elevator

  • Raised pilothouse and optional helipad for remote access

“The Azzurra 48 exemplifies our vision of a semi-custom superyacht where expansive volume, refined Italian styling, and Dutch hydrodynamic innovation converge,” says Mauro Giamboi. This is not just a superyacht — it’s a modern interpretation of freedom, functionality, and timeless design on the water.
