The vision of Arksen founder Jasper Smith, an adventure enthusiast himself, was to create a yacht explorer with a priority on low maintenance, high performance and true sustainability and thus the 27.3m Arksen 85 was created.
To bring his vision for the Arksen Explorer series to life, Arksen founder Smith worked with two experienced British design houses: Humphreys Yacht Design designed the exterior, hull form and general layout, while Design Unlimited created the interior design and collaborated with Humphreys to enhance the layout according to each customer's preference.
With a range of up to three months at sea, long range without frequent refueling or maintenance stops, space for adventure gear, silent operation, always-on communications, hybrid propulsion and large solar capacity and, of course, excellent navigation with a very shallow draft so that it can go near the beach if necessary, it is certainly a very special explorer yacht.
For its construction, aluminum was chosen as a material for its light, robust and long-lasting properties and unpainted so that its performance is not affected even a little. It is also easy to maintain and repair in remote locations if there are no shipyards in sight and the recyclability of the material ensures that the vessel is environmentally responsible at the end of its life cycle.
In the interior, Scandinavian lines were chosen but with brighter colors. It can accommodate 10 people in its cabins and 4 staff. Recycled and recyclable materials have also been used in the construction as sustainability is a key element of the yacht. The layout can of course be changed according to the owner's needs and provides the comforts of a yacht while at the same time being an exlporer that can travel from the arctic circle to the tropics.
The Arksen 85's narrow, fast hull looks closer to a sailboat than a traditional powerboat. This is no surprise as part of the way Humphreys Yacht Design works is using its deep experience in sailing yacht design and applying it to a motor yacht. Like a sailboat, it has the ability to recover if it capsizes in rough seas, which is why the windows are 25mm thick to be durable.
The yacht will be able to sail in all latitudes and longitudes safely satisfying the love of adventure and contact with nature of the passengers!
