Renowned Venetian design studio Nuvolari Lenard is set to launch the first of its inspired designs, the 47m S1, as it nears completion at the Mengi Yay shipyard in Turkey. This pioneering superyacht will be presented at the Monaco Yacht Show in September, showcasing the exceptional design and craftsmanship that Nuvolari Lenard is known for.
This experience and the expertise of the studio team have been merged into a stunning steel and aluminum yacht for experienced boat owners. Indeed, the S1 project came about at the request of a very experienced owner who wants to capture not only the essence of a larger boat but also its deck and interiors in a package under 50 meters and – crucially – under 500GT. The advantages are clear – the S1 is a yacht that offers the luxury, flexibility, range and capability of a 60m yacht but in a smaller, Mediterranean-friendly size.
"The S1 opens up the possibility of more destinations thanks to its 4,000-mile range, while also having more cruising space due to its more compact size," says Naval Architect Carlo Nuvolari, co-founder of the Nuvolari Lenard studio. “But she doesn't compromise – with more than three decades of know-how, we've been able to transfer ideas from our much larger superyachts to the S1, and as a result she offers the large outer decks, side deck, walkways you'd expect to see on a much larger yacht.”
The owner's deck features an aft suite offering sweeping views, with a spacious bathroom and large windows. The master cabin leads to the upper aft deck, which offers a large private veranda that can also be sheltered from the wind and weather under the extended shade of the sundeck, thanks to glass panels that slide aft. The result is a versatile deck space that can provide all-season living inside-out.
Accommodations include four en-suite double cabins on the lower deck, with two cabins that can be combined into an exquisite VIP suite. The yacht also has an elevator, a rare feature at this size, making it accessible for all generations.
It also has a private lounge on the main deck with an open balcony overlooking the sea. This versatile living room can serve as a study area, cinema, music room or just a place to relax. The decoration is a modern combination of beige, blue and green colors as well as materials such as wood which dominates in all areas.
The S1's sundeck is one of the largest in this class of yacht. “She offers three different areas: the aft sunbathing area, the central and fully sheltered sun lounge with a mini pool and a view to the bow,” reports Carlo Nuvolari. “This deck, where guests will certainly spend a lot of time and take meals, is also served by an independent crew staircase to ensure quality service and privacy – a key aspect of the onboard experience that many yachts miss out on this size. "
“The S1 achieves all of this without looking bulky or bloated, a testament to the genius of the Nuvolari Lenard team,” explains Dan Lenard, Designer and Co-Founder of Nuvolari Lenard. The design combines masculine and feminine elements, creating an elegant profile with calm interiors characterized by wood and bronze tones. In addition, the Mengi Yay shipyard has beautifully implemented the construction, including polished stainless steel, enthusiastically following Nuvolari Lenard's design.
