The new Otam 90 GTS, a 28m yacht, recently completed her sea trials and exceeded her conventional speed expectations, achieving a top speed of 45 knots, beating the expected 42 knots. The first boat of Otam's flagship 90 GTS series is called Sexy Me and has now been delivered to its owner. Designed by Umberto Tagliavini and Aldo Scorzoni of Marine Design & Services and with custom interiors by Giuseppe Bagnardi of BG Design Firm, this yacht is set to debut at the 2024 Cannes Yachting Festival.
The Otam 90 GTS is powered by twin 2,600hp MTU engines and Arneson propellers, ensuring smooth and fast navigation. The hull design supports excellent handling capabilities at sea. Despite the added weight on board due to specific owner requests, such as a custom rotating runway, outriggers, extensive use of marble and an advanced stereo system, the yacht's performance remains impressive.
The Otam 90 GTS range is fully customizable on an engineering level, with options including hard or soft top, either full height or half length side windows, with or without side door and single or double hull window for the main suite. Sexy Me is the semi-open version, designed to accommodate a large number of guests.
The yacht's semi-open design offers remarkable quietness at all speeds and meticulous attention to sound insulation enhances comfort on board. The air intakes and breather on the hard top reflect high-performance luxury car designs.
The steering console is inspired by the world of racing cars with a polyester structure similar to the protective 'halo' system used by Formula 1 and other racing cars, with an integrated cooling system for the electronics.
The layout of "SEXY ME" accommodates guests in its three cabins. Below deck is the owner's suite, a VIP cabin, a third guest cabin and a saloon with a desk shelf for the stereo system. On the main deck, in addition to the spacious, pleasant cockpit with opening hardtop, there is specific access to the galley, which is deliberately separated from the VIP section. The crew compartment is large in size and has independent access.
OTAM's artistic approach confirms once again the yard's intention and ability to meet every requirement of its owners (who are often megayacht owners, as in the case of M/Y "SEXY ME") developing unique projects as ultimate expression of exclusivity and luxury in today's market.
The Genoese yard's flagship yacht will make her international debut at the Cannes Yachting Festival 2024 from September 10 to 15 in a year of particular significance for OTAM as the yard celebrates its 70th anniversary.
